Dr. Phan Vuong Khac Thai graduated with honors from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (full-time program) between 1986 and 1992. He obtained his PhD in 2014 through a joint program between the Open University (UK) and OUCRU (Oxford University Clinical Research Unit – Vietnam), specializing in Infectious Diseases and Scientific Research. He also holds a Master of Medicine degree (2003, specializing in Internal Medicine) and a Level I Specialist degree (1996, specializing in Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Diseases) from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City.
Dr. Thai has completed advanced training in Australia (1997–1998, Respiratory Medicine), the UK (2008–2014, Scientific Research and Infectious Diseases), Taiwan (2008, Tuberculosis), and the USA (2011, Palliative Care).
He has participated in numerous medical conferences both domestically and internationally (Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Austria, the Philippines, the USA, the UK, Australia, Taiwan, and Thailand).
With 30 years of experience in respiratory medicine and tuberculosis/pulmonary disease, Dr. Thai holds practicing certificates in General Internal Medicine (2004–2008) and Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Diseases (2014). Since 2022, he has served as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Head of the General Internal Medicine Department at Tam Tri Saigon Hospital.
